Maura Delos Reyes, the 26-year-old cyclist from Zamboanga City, has quickly made a name for herself on both national and international circuits. Her 2023 season began with a victory at the Dinagyang Criterium Championship in Iloilo City this January, followed by an impressive third-place finish overall in the Tour of La Union in February.
In March, Delos Reyes represented the Philippines at the BIWASE Cup in Vietnam, where she commanded the Binh Duong Women’s intermediate sprint, showcasing her competitive edge on the international stage. She went on to participate in both the Criterium and Road Race events during the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia, further highlighting her versatility as a rider.
Her breakout moment came in June 2023, during a drizzling National Criterium Championships, where she dethroned reigning champion Jermyn Prado to claim the title. Delos Reyes continued to impress, securing second place overall in the Individual Time Trial and Road Race events at the national level.
In October, Delos Reyes ruled the Individual Time Trial on stage one of the 19th Tour of Matabungkay. Most recently, she achieved a commendable 2nd runner-up position in both the Tour of Vizcaya and the PNG Women’s ITT, underscoring her consistency and determination.
From her remarkable performances to her strategic prowess, Maura Delos Reyes has become a formidable presence in Philippine women’s cycling.
