Jonel Pansacala Carcueva: Cebu’s Cycling Powerhouse

Presenting the pride of Medellin, Cebu—Jonel Pansacala Carcueva! The only three-peat winner of the National Road Race.

Carcueva is the embodiment of raw talent and unbreakable determination. Standing at five-foot-five, this powerhouse rider represents the Go For Gold Cycling Team, proving time and again that he’s more than just a national sensation—he’s a force to be reckoned with on the international stage. The maverick Carcueva clinched a bronze medal in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, and he left his mark on the Tour de Singkarak by winning a grueling 202 km mountaintop stage, showcasing his incredible endurance and climbing prowess.

Before joining the ranks of the Go For Gold Continental Team, Dong Jonel honed his skills with the Cebu Kopiko Cycling Team, under the mentorship of Team Coach and Manager Edz Hualda back in 2015.

But here’s a surprise—long before his pro cycling days, the multitalented Carcueva was spinning tracks and wheels as a hip-hop dancer and a mountain bike (MTB) rider, blending rhythm with the grit of the open road. From those humble beginnings, with nothing more than sardines to sustain him through the hardest rides, Jonel’s resilience and relentless drive have carried him to the top tiers of cycling.

So, brace yourselves, cycling fans! Get ready to witness the 29-year-old all-rounder who rides with unmatched passion—Jonel Pansacala Carcueva of the Go For Gold Cycling Team!
