LBC Ronda Pilipinas holds the distinction of offering the largest prize money in Philippine cycling history, amounting to P8.8 million.
The event was conceptualized by Luzon Brokerage Corporation (LBC) Ronda Pilipinas Organizing Committee, led by Chairman Fernando “Dino” Araneta, the late Project Director Moe Chulani, Race Director Ric Rodriguez, Technical Director Jamaludin Mahmood, a UCI International Commissaire from Malaysia, and Administrative Director Jack Yabut. It was launched to promote the company’s then-new logo and slogan, transitioning from “Hari ng Padala” to “We Like To Move It.” This multi-stage road cycling competition aimed to showcase the natural beauty of the Philippines and foster the development of cycling in the country.

For the first time in Philippine cycling history, Ronda Pilipinas achieved the distinction of hosting a stage that spanned the country’s extremities—from Zamboanga City in the southernmost part of the Philippines to Aparri, Cagayan in the north.

Recognized as one of the premier cycling events in the country, LBC Ronda Pilipinas continues to solidify its legacy in the sport.
