DID YOU KNOW?
7-Eleven by Road Bike Philippines came into existence shortly after Mark Guevarra (now Mark Galedo) triumphed in the 2009 Tour of Luzon championship.
Galedo has been a rock-solid founding member of 7-Eleven by Road Bike Philippines, consistently contributing to the team’s legacy and success since its inception.
But here’s an intriguing twist: Why did he change his name from Mark Guevarra to Mark Galedo?
In 2010, while applying for a passport, he discovered that his name was legally registered as Mark John Lexer Galedo, adopting his father’s surname—a surprising revelation even to him!
As for the team, it reached new heights in 2011, earning the status of a Continental team. This marked a milestone for Philippine cycling as it became the second Continental team formed by Mr. Ricardo “Ric” Rodriguez, following the historic emergence of Casino Filipino, the country’s first-ever professional and Continental cycling team, in both the local and international cycling scenes.
