Renowned as the 2018 Le Tour de Filipinas champion in both the general and sprint classifications, Cariño dropped a bombshell in 2024 with stunning team switch from Standard Insurance to Victoria Sports Pro Cycling—not as a rider, but as assistant directeur sportif.
An LBC Ronda Pilipinas 2020 King of the Mountain himself, the newly minted VSPC Sports Director now leads the 7-man VSPC squad—Marcelo Felipe, Nichol Pareja, Daniel Ven Cariño, brothers Ean Cajucom and Rush Camingao, Kenneth Maramba, and Miguel Omberga—into the eight-stage, 1,075-kilometer challenge of the MPTC Tour of Luzon 2025.
