Originally formed in 2012, the present-day Standard Insurance Philippines began as two separate squads—San Miguel Marine and Navy Standard Insurance—created specifically for the second edition of LBC Ronda Pilipinas.
San Miguel Marine’s roster included John Ricafort as team skipper, Reinhard Gorantes as assistant skipper, Salvador Salvador, Michael Pili, Jonathan Paras, and Rudy Malangsa. Meanwhile, Navy Standard Insurance featured Santy Barnachea, Lloyd Reynante, Eric Feliciano, Eboy Quiñones, and Jan Paul Morales.
The two squads merged in 2013 for that year’s edition of LBC Ronda Pilipinas and were officially renamed Philippine Navy Standard Insurance (PNSI).

Over the years, PNSI underwent a remarkable transformation under the leadership of the PNSI founding member and Maasin, Iloilo Pride Reinhard Gorantes, who took over from former head coach Bernie Llentada in 2014.
From then on, the team experienced a golden streak and an era of supremacy in the team classification.
This dominance was interrupted in 2019, when the silent kings of the peloton, Matrix Powertag Japan, emerged as a giant slayer, outclassing PNSI.
However, PNSI bounced back in 2020 and 2022, signaling a cycling renaissance that once again electrified the local racing scene.
Last year, the team officially rebranded as Standard Insurance Philippines, marking its evolution into a UCI Continental team.

This year, the rebranded Standard Insurance Philippines will make its debut in the MPTC Tour of Luzon 2025, fully reloaded and aiming to dominate not only Local counterparts but also Foreign rivals.
