Filipino Cyclists Brace For Korean Contenders in MPTC Tour of Luzon 2025

Dwaentertainment witnessed and partly covered the near-miss victory of 33-year-old Hyo-suk Gong from LX Cycling Team during the 130 km Stage 1 of the PRURide PH UCI 2.2 race in 2019—a stage dominated by breakout Filipino athlete Ismael Grospe.

This feat demonstrated that, despite facing 12 strong Continental teams, Filipino riders could still rise above and shine in a highly competitive international meet.

In this year’s MPTC Tour of Luzon 2025, a Korean cycling team is set to challenge the Philippines’ best once and for all in the battle for both individual and team honors.
