NO EXCUSES, JUST RESULTS: The Barnachea Way

Once again, four-time national tour champion Santy Barnachea steps into the spotlight, leading his MPT DriveHub team to victory in this year’s special edition of Larga Pilipinas.

A Marlboro Tour veteran, Barnachea competed in the last two editions of the fabled cycling classic, never missing a beat as he secured a podium finish in the U23 category, knocking on the door of his prime.

In LBC Ronda Pilipinas 2022, serving as a rider-coach—the second-oldest competitor (46) to compete in the national tour in history after his legendary provincemate Mamerto Eden (51)—he steered the emerging squad Excellent Noodles Cycling Team to a strong second-place finish in the team classification. Building on that success, Barnachea once again displayed sharp judgment and leadership in the 2025 MPTC Tour of Luzon, guiding his new family, MPT DriveHub, to the championship over 16 competing squads—four of them international teams.

When asked about the secret to his team’s success, Barnachea was quick to reply: “Old school—hardcore training, rain or shine. No excuses, just results.”
