Grygo Bolinas, the One-Legged Wonder, is performing miracles on wheels and stands as an inspiration to persons with disabilities (PWDs).
Three years ago, on May 1, 2022, Dwaentertainment featured the then 30-year-old Bolinas—the Iron Pedal of Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan—during the Capitol Pistay Dayat Circuit Race in Lingayen.
When Dwaentertainment asked what drew him to cycling, Bolinas replied: “Kaya ko nagawang mag-bike, gusto ko makita ng mga istambay na walang dahilan para sumuko sila sa laban ng buhay.”
Bolinas has since caught the attention of national paracycling head coach Norberto Oconer, a two-time Olympian and the last Filipino to compete in the Olympic road race.
Bolinas is tipped to become the first Philippine paracyclist to ride on the Olympic stage, a vision shared by Oconer.

Despite drifting in and out of the roster, Bolinas has remained under Oconer’s wing since 2018.
At present, Oconer is guiding six paracyclists under his tutelage. Among them are Asian Cycling Championships multi-medalists and an ASEAN Para Games champion:
Bolinas is seen to make a breakthrough at the ASEAN Para Games in January 2026. Securing a gold there would serve as a gateway to the Asian Para Cycling Championships in October 2026—an important ticket to the Olympic Games.
The team extends its gratitude to PHILSPADA, led by Mr. Mike Barredo, and to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) under Chairman John Patrick “Pato” Gregorio for their steadfast support.
