Two-time Guam Olympian Jazy Fernandez Garcia is frequently seen with his former prodigy, El Joshua Cariño, a 2018 Le Tour de Filipinas grand winner, in the home of the cycling champions.
Decades back, Fernandez already saw Cariño’s potential and keen love of cycling, prompting him to train the latter at the tender age of 16, and the rest is history.
Now, the two Pangasinan cycling kings work together at a medical institution in Pangasinan, training young athletes therein.

Reportedly, the now 32 year-old climber, Cariño, a Navy Veteran, is un-retiring and setting his sights on competing in the forthcoming revival of Le Tour de Filipinas in February 2026 and the next edition of the Tour of Luzon—expectedly in April 2026.
