Age-defiant Mancebo Perez, approaching 50, the oldest rider to win a UCI race early this year, is not bowing out of multi-stage races and has just signed a new contract for Pingtan International Tourism Cycling Team, a Chinese Continental team, after spending several seasons with Matrix Powertag (Japan).
His stint with the former team made him the oldest rider in history, at the age of 42, to win a multi-stage in the Philippines—eclipsing Santy Barnachea’s age of 38 when he won his last Ronda Pilipinas crown—and led his Japan-based team to a championship in LBC Ronda Pilipinas’ first-ever UCI 2.2 race in 2019.

Interestingly, a Pangasinan rider from a local Continental team is reportedly joining the Spanish ageless warrior.
