THE ARMENDEZ LEGACY LIVES ON!

Historically, Kim Jerome Duremdes of Iloilo City is the first recipient of the Mark Arvin España Armendez Medal, awarded to the National Junior Men’s Road Champion.

Duremdes, a junior competitor who snapped the winning streak of Ilocano top gun CJ Cabreros and one of the high-performing Ilonggo riders who excelled in their respective categories at the nationals 2026, outclassed 49 competing juniors in the 88‑km road race on the third day of the National Road Championships.

He clocked 2 hours, 0 minutes, and 28 seconds, finishing 8 seconds ahead of Prince Jay Elbabuena and 18 seconds ahead of Daniel Cortero to secure the inaugural Mark Arvin España Armendez Medal—the first tribute medal in the history of the National Road Championships, organized by the Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines (PHILCYCLING) and supported by Philippine Sports Commission.
