Zedric Ivan Honorica is truly making a statement after being commended by no less than MMDA General Manager, Usec Nicolas Torre III, and Chairman Atty. Romando Artes, as well as Ms. Anne Vallarit.

It is worth remembering that recently Honorica’s impact on Philippine sports, especially in the Asian Track Cycling Championships, is nothing short of a “Cinderella Run.” A FoodPanda delivery rider, who just tried his luck as a walk-in for the qualifiers on an upgraded, pre-owned P20,000 bike early this year, delivered a resounding national record of 10.865 seconds, shattering a mark that had stood for roughly 20 years.
What is even more remarkable here is that even if he failed to reach the podium, his gap to the gold winner—an Olympian and a two-time Asian Games gold medalist who reportedly used a P7 million bike—was just over 1.5 seconds (1.517 sec).
Technically, he didn’t lose to the athletes themselves; he lost to the technology—mathematically undeniable.
