Still Anybody’s Guess – Oranza

When Ronald Oranza was quizzed about which foreign team poses a threat or has an edge in the forthcoming MPTC Tour of Luzon, he laconically said, “Lahat naman ‘yan nag-ensayo.”

“Crucial ang stage 1, matic ’yan,” Oranza added.

In the 2025 MPTC Tour of Luzon, the then 32 year-old-Standard Insurance team skipper placed 9th overall, trailing Joo Dae-yeong by 3 minutes and 45 seconds. He notably trimmed Joo’s four-minute lead during the final stage up the legendary climb to Baguio City.

Early in the campaign, he established himself as the 2nd best sprinter from Stages 1 to 5, the 4th best in the 6th and 7th stages, and ultimately concluded the tour finished 5th overall in the sprint classification—behind Corpuz, Cajucom, Morales, and Carcueva.
