In the 1962 Tour of Luzon, both Rodrigo Abaquita (Cebu) and Edmundo de Guzman (Pangasinan) wore the Yellow Jersey, after finishing in a “dead heat” for the overall lead.

Ultimately, Lingayen pride Edmundo de Guzman—a humble fishpond caretaker—was hailed as the 1962 Tour of Luzon after defeating the Korean juggernaut, Kim Ho Soon, by a margin of 1 minute and 47 seconds.
